To feel it all

I haven't been on my computer the last few days, but for a good reason. Very busy with drawing, making collages etc.... That feels so good. Ánd I finally finished my drawing 'Requiem for an innocence lost'. YEAY!
I don't know if you still can remember it, so first i show you the beginning. Than lots of photo's from the finished drawing. Why so much? To show you all details and beauty. I love it so much! I hope you do enjoy it as much as i do.
I have made an internet portfolio. I wrote on the first page about a friend painter (Caio) who described my art as violently feminine. And that i like that. But don't wanna rub it in your face. I wanna seduce you to enter my world, wander around and to feel it.
To feel it all.

Requiem for an innocence lost
From the very first beginning till the end....
Ink, pencils, pastel and watercolor on paper.
68 x 50 cm

The next one is moved, so therefor a bit blurred, but i love it a lot this way.

This drawing is giving me so much creative energy and ideas.
I wish you all a good week with lots of creative energy as well.
Sweet greetz and kisses!

Everything distant, everything close

Lately i was so very tired, that i even didn't draw. Although that made me very restless, i couldn't find the peace to sit down and create something new. All i could do was take care of my responsibilities, reading, sleeping a lot when possible and daydreaming. But only daydreaming makes me sad and even more restless. My muse hadn't left me, she was knocking at my door but i just ignored her. Strange, because i just needed to let her shine. Yesterday, after a long sleep without any dreams i woke up and sat down at my table. There was the beginning of a drawing i wanted to finish.
I wrote earlier about my holidays in France and the view i had from the camping. Everyday i stood there watching this wonderful view and imagining that there must have been Celtic women on this spot searching the horizon for their beloved ones on sea. (there was an old Celtic settlement nearby this spot) It was fun to fantasize about this. One evening i started to draw such a lady. I hadn't finish it there, so i took this dream home. And now she was laying in front of me, patiently waiting. But i couldn't finish this drawing. Yet. So i turned the page. There were marks on this page from the celtic lady. Pressed through, almost invisible lines. I started working, using these lines. And there appears the sister of the Celtic lady. Darker, much darker. She must be the desires and pain of my lady. Hiding in darknes, waiting for the light to let her shine. As i finished this drawing, i imediately worked on my Celtic lady. Now i also could finish her story.

Everything seems so very, very distant

Everything seems so very, very close

The strange hours

Ha! No idea which ghost from Bretagne whispered this image in my ear. She looks a bit on an insect lady but we didn't have trouble with bugs. The rocks and menhirs were the inspiration for the background. I love this lady very much and was very surprised as she showed herself. :-)
I wish you all an inspired weekend!

All that i have lost

Sometimes Most of the time i find it hard to explain the meaning of my drawings and paintings. The image develops while creating it. I don't make sketches etc. at first, i start drawing or painting and my thoughts and emotions of that moment lead my hand. Or so it seems. For paintings and the mixed media work i mostly have a topic in my head. Like the 'Blood on the floor' series. But i work very instinctively. Music and poetry are often triggers, i'm very inspired by it.
I felt sad and lonely on vacation and this is what appeared on paper, in the middle of the night, only the sound of the sea and the wind and me drawing.....

Take it back

I drawed and painted this over an image in an old book. And here she was, a nymph of the woods. And yes i know, she's not that pretty kind of nymph you always see. She's a bit masculine with her strong neck and worried face. But hey, she's coming from the black earth of the woods. ;-) It's a returning topic in my work i realize, seed and sowing, trees and root. Inspired by the great weather and being outdoors i suppose.

Dream of magical woods and germinating seed of imagination.....

In progress: Requiem for a lost innocence

I've been working on this drawing lately and the story grows. I'm very contented with it so far. Thoughts and feelings are formed on the blanc paper, whispering about fear, passion, love and hope. All the mysteries of human kind. All their secrets and dreams. Beyond good and evil......

Click on the images for a larger view. Some details:

The scent of a flower, shitting pigeon and Shhhhhhhhhhhht

Cuttling a sweet bunny, hands up, can't see and a faun from Spain

Lost innocence?

I'm very disappointed, but i'm not talking politics on this blog. I'm busy with painting. Meanwhile also starting a new big drawing (like Black birds). Lost innocence?

And a photo of our red-white fluffy little angel Willie W. Sleeping and dreaming....

Dream about a world where people can live together in peace, accepting each other. Make this dream come true. Act in the name of love.

Het gezin * The family

Ink and watercolour on paper. 20,5 x 13 cm

As i was drawing the family, and tried the red on a piece of paper, the following 2 little friends appeared. I love them, they're so cute i think.

Wind, fire, water, earth

Not yet finished, because as i was drawing the wind~woman, i didn't like it. The wind disturbes me. So i stopped. I don't know if i will finish this one. Also because i think it is too sweet, too much detail. Hmm, not so sure about this one. Perhaps i feel this way because i am painting a big painting and let go the little details in the painting. I am happy with that, but perhaps this means also a change in my drawings?
It's so great, painting again. That's also the reason i am not that much on the www at the moment. Discovering new ways. Finally brave enough to let go while painting. The results will be uploades soon.
Tell me what you think (honestly) about this 4 elements drawing. I am curious and i appreciate your opinion.

Let the wind blow away disturbing dreams...........

I've got a sun in me

I always have to take some distance after finishing a drawing or painting. When i'm working on it i think it's great (after some struggles etc), when it's finished i most of the time think it's crap. Then i let it rest for a day or two. After the rest (distance) i can look at it again and can appreciate what i have done. Some more than other but i think all artists know what i mean. And if the piece after the rest still looks like crap i paint it over or throw it away.
This drawing i found too neat after finishing it. The lady too sweet, but now after the rest i can appreciate it. But this one isn't love at first sight haha.

May your dreams not be too sweet!

Black birds * The movie ;-)

I just discovered a video editing program and it's such fun. Because it's difficult to see all the details on my large drawings i upload, i thought it would be fun to film all the details of the drawing. But the quality isn't that good, some bits are over-exposed. And i find out that i dón't have to film one big shot, but can do tiny parts and put that together haha. But still, i love this first try out and i hope i can transmit to you the atmosphere i had in mind. I promiss you: the next round i make a little movie it will be of a better quality.

I also did the soundscape (music). A soundscape is just like a collage but in stead of cutting and glueing images i do it with sounds and music. Sounds of the television or radio and i used the 9th symphony from Beethoven for the underlaying basic looping sound. I hope you enjoy it! Don't forget to stop my How do u dream jukebox. ;-)

Black birds; i don't need no pain * i cannot get no sleep * is it all as it seems? Don't you see? I've got a sun in me * Monsters don't have hearts ♥ Sure they have ♥ It's the blaze across my nightgown * Insomnia! It's in my head! Let me unfold your thoughts * You are the blood flowing from my fingers * You are ♥

Dream about hope......

Black birds

Ink, pencils & ballpoint on paper. 60 x 90 cm * 35.4 x 23.6"

Oh how excited i am! My creative energy is sizzling, bubbling, floating. This drawing i started some years ago and then it had to rest. Yesterday evening i laid it in front of me and started to draw. I drawed all night long. Went to sleep at 5 o'clock. I will finish this drawing in two, three days. It's a LARGE drawing. The uploads are not so clear but i wanted to share this already with you. I will make a good photograph of it totally when finished.
Thank you all for your comments, it lifts me up. More than you can think.

Dream about new horizons, dream breathlessly.........
