The mysterious world of MONICA CROESE

12.5.10

Wind, fire, water, earth

Not yet finished, because as i was drawing the wind~woman, i didn't like it. The wind disturbes me. So i stopped. I don't know if i will finish this one. Also because i think it is too sweet, too much detail. Hmm, not so sure about this one. Perhaps i feel this way because i am painting a big painting and let go the little details in the painting. I am happy with that, but perhaps this means also a change in my drawings?
It's so great, painting again. That's also the reason i am not that much on the www at the moment. Discovering new ways. Finally brave enough to let go while painting. The results will be uploades soon.
Tell me what you think (honestly) about this 4 elements drawing. I am curious and i appreciate your opinion.

Let the wind blow away disturbing dreams...........

I actually love the wind-woman. She's very powerful, and I like that she's not colored... it's perfect! And so are the other elements... and may the winds clear all!

I like the textures, the composition and the balance of it. I think you are on the right track.

It sounds like you are in a state of transition, which is good. Of course, you are going to question your own direction, but when you get to the other side, you will know.

I hope your dreams become good dreams.

Have a sun filled weekend!

a wonderful image ... i think you may be feeling uncertain because you are the little lady bug re-emerging and trying out those wings again ... but look at the wonderful sprouting arm - definitely spring time for your art ... just believe ... let the wind blow the self-doubt away ... and fly, fly, FLY

Hi Momo,
This is a great drawing of the four elements. Branches growing out of fingers and leaves growing as hair. A truly beautiful idea. I love this
and I don't think there is too much detail... I actually see my work as sweet with too much detail!:)
Thank you for your kind offer to do an art item exchange!:)
Would you like us to exchange some postcards. I would be happy to send you some fairy cards.
Let me know what you think?
Drop me a private message on FB, if you like.
Sweet wishes.:)

I like what you're doing. I do understand walking away from it. Sometimes I leave a piece for many months until I have fresh eyes.

Liebe Monica,

herzlichst, Rachel

Everybody: i wanna thank you all for commenting. It's an eye-opener, it makes the world for me (or how is that phrase again?) Bui is does! You'll never know....

Thank you so much Denise!I probably have to let it rest awhile and then look at it with new eyes.

Tnx Nevine, maybe that's my dislike. Too much colour. I mean i like to draw in black and white and then i use just a little bit colour. Sometimes only for the background. I think that it gives a powerful image. If i might change this drawing then i leave the wind woman without colour. I think you are right. Transparent wind. :-)

Hi there Melissa,

yes it;s springtime, but we don't notice it yet overhere. It's cold! And deep in my heart i am an autumn girl. Just like your father i love autumn the most.

I'm happy you like it, and somehow i did know that you would like the ladybugs. :-)

Sweet greetz for you!

Hi Brian, dear friend;
Í thought i was on the right track too, but then i got lost. :-s
yes, you're right, i'm in a state of transition, and that is a struggle but yes, also good. And when i'm on the other side i'm sure all will fall into place. It always does.

You are so kind: lately my dreams are good and happy dreams, i wish the same for you.

And yes, let the sun shine in, because it's too cold now for the time of the year and the sun is hiding.

A very creative and inspiring weekend for you, and enjoy the sun!
xoxo

Thank you Harry, i smiled because of the ladybug comment. I like that, and i think you're right.
Comments like yours and all my other blogfriends are making me FLY..... and making me stronger, forgetting my doubts.
Thank you so much! May your weekend be filled with sprouting ideas.
Sweet greetz!

Dear Joanne May,
i'm glad you like my work. That you think the same about your own work (too much detail, too sweet) made me smile. I don't agree, i love your art. And i love every detail in it. Isn't it funny sometimes how we see our own art and the art of others? I'm always surprised of the nice comments of other artists i admire.

To exchange some postcards sounds great to me! I'll also gladly make a little drawing especially for you and exchange that for a little drawing of yours. If you like that ofcourse. :-) I'll mail you this evening.

xoxo Monica

Yes that's it Manon! If you let it be and look at it again with fresh eyes you see nwe possibilities. And very often if i finish it then it becomes one of my favourites.

Momo Luna S!gnals said...

Thank you Aris, that makes me happy. :)

This is an amazing picture i love it. I think all of the elements have the things we like and dislike. maybe try focusing on what you like about the wind. Is it the way it can make leaves fly and dance, picking up tempo and slowing for a pause like passionate music? Please keep going with this piece as I love it. xJ

This picture works well for me Momo. I love the arm that becomes a branch and all the elements falling one upon the other. Don't give up on it.

I know what you mean, sometimes you just need a little distance from certain feelings, from certain people too, just to be able see clear what they really are, what they carry with in them!! Working bigger is in some cases deliberating and gives great feeling of freedom from anoing details!Only the problem is,I love these detailed drawings of yours,:O)
Symbolism, atmosphere and feelings they bring out in me!!
Greetings, Aleksandra

Momo Luna S!gnals said...

Thank you Jasmine, oh yes i am not giving up, don't worry, but i have to let it be for the moment. But all the inspiring comments make me finish this one for not too long time.

Thank you dear Elisabeth, i won't give up, it just needs some time.

Thank you lovely ALeks, i love my detailed drawings too, they're very close to my heart, so i'll never stop drawing them. :-)
It goes well next to painting, because i'm now painting some larger pieces. :-)
