The mysterious world of MONICA CROESE

21.10.09

Your sun chilled my heart

I checked out if i had uploaded all my approved drawings from 2007 and find out i never posted the following one. I drawed this in a dark period when i found out i was betrayed by someone i loved very much. But hey, that's life, shit happens. ;-) And i grew over it, although there is this little scar on my heart and soul.....

Even without the words bellow pain can be felt just looking at the drawing. You have a very personal style full of references that reinforce your expression. I immediately thought of Kahlo, her painful self-portraits and bleeding hearts, her painful love.

Fantastisch hoe jij gevoelens, gedachten en fantasie kunt omzetten in een mooie tekening. Chapeau!

Toch vind ik dit een heel mooi schilderij. Het echte leven en dan nog interessant uitgebeeld.

I'm working on a thesis that explores the degree to which creativity in life writing emerges out of the desire for revenge.

Your work here is a wonderful illustration of how the pain and hurt of betrayal can lead to creativity. Thanks for sharing it.

This has become smaller scar and pain disappear.

Thank you for your nice words Aleph. There are more people thinking of Kahlo when they see may work. I'm honoured 'cause i think she's a great artist, but it's too much honour, i am not thát good. (i'm always so insecure)

Dank je wel Annie, je reactie betekent veel voor me. :-)

Dank je Martine, ik kan niet anders dan echte emoties weergeven. Maar dat is met alle kunst zo, toch?
xxx terug

Sweet Renee,
pain is also a part of life. Without understanding and experiencing pain i couldn't experience happiness, no smiles without tears....
One wise man (i don't know exactly who) once said: It is impossible to achieve the aim without suffering. I think that's true.
Hugs and xxx for you!

You're welcome Elisabeth. To draw and paint is very important for me, to clear my head and to let go (indeed) sorrow and pain..... But not only that, creating my own world and reality makes me very happy.

Thank you Bondearte for your nice comment.

You're welcome Apollinaire, i'm glad you appreciate it.

Hello Amy Rubin,
nice to meet you and welcome. I'm happy you like my work.

Hi Yvette,
I like your vision on this. For me it expresses the happiness of two beloved one's build on the ruins of my love and trust.
I hope you're doing fine and send you some positive thoughts and virtual hugs.....
