The mysterious world of MONICA CROESE

10.9.10

The strange hours

Ha! No idea which ghost from Bretagne whispered this image in my ear. She looks a bit on an insect lady but we didn't have trouble with bugs. The rocks and menhirs were the inspiration for the background. I love this lady very much and was very surprised as she showed herself. :-)
I wish you all an inspired weekend!

I agree with Laura - the green eyes are marvelous! This is a beautiful and ancient creature, fierce and wise! I think she too has come through some "heavy" times and is stronger for the passage! I am so happy, my friend, to read that you are beginning to put the sadness you felt in Bretagne behind you and to find your strength and joy again! Warm hugs to you.

Monica,

So good to see you, my friend!

I see strength in this piece. Believe it or not a Preying Mantis with very, very strong hands. Your strength will help you prevail. I know it!

The colors are bold and her stance is confident. I see a lot of messages in this piece.

Take good care,
Brian

"was very surprised as she showed herself"- this is just one more reason that makes me love your work... I mean... we feeel it wen we look at the works, they are free and umpredictable. you give space for the creativity and let the feelings grow on it.
the main figure and the landscape have an "allien" feeling with a familiar look. but the blood on the hands makes it so human.....

A captivating image full of signs and metaphor the pierced hands, the insectile head, intiguing and disturbing somehow. The postscipt sashares that enigmatic quality. I love the imagery and the ambiguity of the narrative. There's a sense of fun here that delights.

Not an insect, rather a queen wearing her crown of inner thoughts and dreams. The Lady of Feeling, with extended feelers reading the ether, carrying her stigmata as signs of her redemptive wounding - through her pain are others healed. Behind lies the luna landscape, eroded barren, to which the Wounded Healer signals mother comfort with her heart's blood.

Thank you dear Laura for your sweet comment. :-)

Tnx Green whisper, i like that a lot; soulful. It's true that i put my soul in my work, but all artists do i think. :-)

xoxo

Hi Gabriella, yes i agree with you. I also think she's an ancient creature. I wrote to ALeks how wonderful it is to draw (unconsciously) from ancient wells/archetypes. It always amazes me and then i'm wondering about the ancient ghosts inside of me.

Warm hugs for you too! I like your wamt hugs dear Gabriella. :-)

Hi Brian,
always happy to see you. My loyal friend. I love the Preying Mantis you see. A lot! I believe you, i can see it too. :-)
And yes, i always have layers/messages in my work. I can't help it. :-)
Tnx for your support and friendship and for you trust in me. I cherish that.
xoxo

Dear Caio, i love it when you write about the alien feel but the blood on the hands make it human. I love that a lot!
Hugs and kisses for you!

Yes, Steppenwolf, sometimes people feel slightly disturbed, looking at my work. I don't know exactly why, often i think my work is still too gentle. But i try to bring fear and hope, dark and light at the same time in my work.
I'm very happy you also see the fun. Great that this delights you. Thank you for your kind words. :-)

Dear Harry,
it's always such a pleasure to read your comments. But this time i got stunned for your beautiful words. May i use them, as i make a book with new drawings? Ofcourse i give the credits to you, mentioning your name.
Thank you for amazing me so much, making my day. :-D

Sweet greetz!
