The mysterious world of MONICA CROESE

7.11.10

To feel it all

I haven't been on my computer the last few days, but for a good reason. Very busy with drawing, making collages etc.... That feels so good. Ánd I finally finished my drawing 'Requiem for an innocence lost'. YEAY!
I don't know if you still can remember it, so first i show you the beginning. Than lots of photo's from the finished drawing. Why so much? To show you all details and beauty. I love it so much! I hope you do enjoy it as much as i do.
I have made an internet portfolio. I wrote on the first page about a friend painter (Caio) who described my art as violently feminine. And that i like that. But don't wanna rub it in your face. I wanna seduce you to enter my world, wander around and to feel it.
To feel it all.

Requiem for an innocence lost
From the very first beginning till the end....
Ink, pencils, pastel and watercolor on paper.
68 x 50 cm

The next one is moved, so therefor a bit blurred, but i love it a lot this way.

This drawing is giving me so much creative energy and ideas.
I wish you all a good week with lots of creative energy as well.
Sweet greetz and kisses!

Dear Laura,

The problem with viewing a work like this is that you want to see more and more and more. I am serious about this! It looks like an entire career in one drawing
Laura mentioned Guernica, and I have seen the rooms full of Picasso's drawings for that work.
You have opened that box now! It is out!
The portfolio was also just great. Thanks for sharing that

Momo Luna S!gnals said...

dear Caio,
now you've made my day. You know how i love your art and think it's genius. I'm so happy that you like this drawing. I will take good care of it, i promis. Should i safe it behind glass or something? Hugs and kisses my friend!

Dank je Manon! Leuk je hier te zien. I'm also glad i found yourblog. :-) xoxo

Thank you so much dear Katelen for your sweet and nice comment. That makes me happy. I wish you all could see this drawing for real.
I also have top look at it again and again....
Hug!

Thank you Dan for your comment, that makes me think....
What can i say? I have so much to tell i suppose. Sometimes i get tired of all the noise in my head haha, than i have to let the spirits free on paper or on canvas. And make space in my head for new stories.
You're right about the box of Pandora. Ths drawing brings lots of creative ideas and energy. And yesthis will lead to some new paintings as well.
Glad you liked the portfolio.
Thank you and you're welcome. :-)

If this is what happens when you stay away from the computer for a few days, I don't mind you disappearing from the blogosphere! This is indeed a masterpiece, my dear, your Guernica, as has already been said. So rich, so alive, a feast for the eyes and the soul, and a provocation for the mind. Brava Luna!

Wow!! This is the first I've seen of it. It's amazing! I love it so much more then Picasso's Guernica. Beautiful work!

Wow! This is such a detailed piece of art, I can't even begin to imagine how long this must have taken you, but the end result is beautiful and must have been worth all the effort. Great work!

Lozzano said...

I love this great composition. It has so many great details.! A wonderful job. And the drawing style is so very personal.
Congratulations.
Thank you for your visit.
Warm regards.

So amazing Momo!! I would love to be able to see this in person and just spend *real* time with it to delve into all the details. I can imagine this a whole lot larger as an amazing mural, a feminist Diego Rivera! (talk about contradiction!!) Absolutely love it.

This is so incredible, very emotionally powerful! How long did it take you to finish? I think "violently feminine" is definitely a compliment. I'm so glad you got your creative "groove" back!

Monica,
I am very happy to see this work completed, and so wonderful!
is superb!
I remember when you posted the beginning of this journey ...
and feel very carefully, that you had to create each figure, each element of this beautiful panel;
we must admire him slowly to unravel the meaning of every detail! ...
congrats! a spectacle!

Wow, I am blown away by that. Really. It is fantastic - in both senses of the word. Wonderful. I shall have to return for another look, when I have more time.

schade das das Bild so "klein " ist . es hat was von Hieronymus Bosch. Sehr düster und apokalyptisch. Mir gefällt es!

Liebe Rachel,
so schön deine liebe Reaktion zu lesen. Danke liebste, hugs and kisses for you!

Lol Gabriella, you're right, i don't mind either because working always feels great. I like that: a provocation for the mind.
Tnx dear friend!
xoxo

Thank you so much Joni. I'm flattered by all about Picasso's Guernica, but i don't think my art is comparible with that of a great Master. It feels good though and makes me happy. :-)
Sweet greetz!

I started this in june Vanilla, but didn't work constantly on it.
If you look at the second photo, where i started to continue the drawing it took me two days to finish it, but working many hours per day on it.
Thank you for commenting. :-D

Hi Lozzano,
good to see you here. I'm very happy you like this drawing. I was glad visiting you again, it had been too long. So many great works as ever...
Warm regards and sweet greetz back for you.

Hello Karin,
standing in front of it is so great, losing yourself into a world in a world in a .....
This is a large drawing (for i always make smaller drawings) but i wanna make a next one even bigger haha.
Your feminine Diego Riviera made me smile. A contradiction that is indeed. I love more the art of Frida. And now we're talking about Masters: Picasso was a great artist but destroyed many very talented female artists (also).
Tnx for your kind comment. xoxo

Ha! tnx JB, but after the end of days there's always a new beginning. I hope you can see that too? ;-)

Hello Sharmon,
yes i'm also very happy to have my creative groove back. As i also wrote to Vanilla: starting the drawing as it was from the second photo, I worked constantly on it for two days and many hours to finish the drawing.
Great you understand the 'violently feminine'as it is.
Tnx for commenting.

Thank you dear Denise for your wonderful comment. I love it to make worlds that need to be unraveled, with many layers.
xoxo

Thank you Dave! Yeah, my drawings sometimes get very crowded and than it took some time to see it all. :-)

Hello Jürgen,
es freut mich eine Reaktion von dir zu sehen. I'll try to upload a larger seize of the total drawing.
Hieronymus Bosch is a big influence, i love his art a lot. I'm sure you have find the 'Bosch head' in the drawing?
Das es dir gefällt freut mich.
And do you still play the music from my blog sometimes as you work?
Sweet greetz für dich!

Thank you Lynne for your sweet comment. I also can stand before it and loose myself in the drawing.
xoxo

Monica,

My humble suggestion...get this piece professionally photographed and have prints made of it. I will be the first in line to buy one!

After a little dry spell, I can see that the flood gates are open again, and it's refreshing to see. We just received your book Silent Echoes in the post today, and to see your collective works over a period from 1994 to 2010 gives such a clear sense in who you are and the power of your work. Everyone should own it!

You posts always give me joy, because I know you are going to present yourself as you truly are, no whitewashing. That is the sign of a true artist in touch with their soul. I will wait for more.

I remain your loyal friend and fan.

xoxo,
Brian

Momo you have an amazing talent and energy. And also, I think your work is very individual. Many artists try to be individual and have a style all of their own, but you achieve it. I love your work xxJ

I like the term 'violently feminine', that fits doesn't it?
It's so good to see this work again and so see all the details, there's just so much in it. mo

Woman in a Window said...

Violently feminine is a perfectly dense way to describe your work. This piece is just so, alluring and jarring in different instances and from different perspectives.

(Thank you for so much honesty on the garden piece I posted recently. That people share so bravely is very important to me and received with much gratitude.)

Hi Brian,
i love to hear your (humble) opinion. I'm already checking out how and where i can print my larger drawings in a good quality.

I'm very happy you have received the book and that you love it. :-) That makes me happy.

I think that's my strength ánd also my trap; to be so truthful. But i don't know any other way.
And truefull souls attract truefull souls, that's obvious. :-D

And i'm grateful for your friendship and loyalty. (and it's vice versa)

Take it easy, i'm sending you my love.

Momo Luna S!gnals said...

Thank you so very much for your sweet comment Jasmine.
I had to look up the word 'achieve'haha, but i love that. Tnx.

Wow Monica!
You have created a masterpiece!
This is truly amazing and you can tell you have felt it all... There is so much passion and female power in every bit of this work.
Brian is right, you should get prints done.
I love all the detail here and the different stories you have told within each image.
It does pay to have time away to focus purely on creating art as wonderful as this.
Thank you for sharing!
Love to you.

congratulations Momo! but that word sounds a little cold indeed, this work is impressively filled with the warmth, speed and mystery of blood. i liked the photos ´cause i felt like getting into it and walking in that kingdom (queendom?) of creatures of yours. .)

Hello Green Whisper,

Lieve, lieve Yvette,
zoals ik al op je blog schreef; je hoeft je niet verontschuldigen meis. Ik begrijp het maar al te goed. Heb zelf ook soms stiltes.
Sterkte en heel veel liefs!

Tnx for commenting Cendrine. I appreciate it a lot!

Hi Jürgen,
das freut mir zum wissen (about the music)
Ha! So i misunderstood lol. Yes, i'm thinking of making drawings even bigger. I have a painting (ca. 1 m 60 x 1 m 20) which is a kind like this: with worlds into worlds into.... You can see it here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/momolunasignals/sets/72157625254509403/
